Disability Benefits for Anxiety Disorders

Claim your Disability Tax Credit Today

The CRA (Canadian Revenue Agency) offers several benefits to people with disabilities including disability tax credit and disability tax benefits. However, most people with disabilities are unaware of this and they do not claim the benefits that they are entitled to. There is a long string of disabilities that are eligible for these credits and benefits and anxiety disorders are just one among the many.

The umbrella of anxiety disorders covers a whole lot of disorders including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and various other phobias.

The emotional symptoms of Anxiety disorders primarily include a sense of apprehension and dread. The person is irritable and finds it exceptionally hard to concentrate, experiencing an inherent feeling of restlessness and is always anticipating bad things to happen, constantly on the lookout for danger signs. The disorder also affects the person physically – the heart rate increases and the person undergoes tremors and twitches. He begins to sweat profusely, his muscles tensing. Chances of dizziness and headaches, fatigue, breathlessness and insomnia are also high. Moreover, there is also a strong link between depression and anxiety disorders – both these disorders aggravates the other. Moreover, these are just a handful of the entire picture of symptoms.

Hence it becomes very important for a person to undergo treatment for anxiety disorders in order for him or her to lead a normal life, be it taking care of themselves or working on a regular basis. The treatment options for anxiety disorders include psychotherapy. Other variations of therapy are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy. Regular sessions with therapists do not come cheap these days and the patient may actually end up paying quite a bit of his or her salary as medical bills. By applying for disability tax credit, the person can ease the tension on his finances. Certain medicines are also prescribed for people with anxiety disorders. Antidepressants and benzodiazepines are the most common medications that are prescribed. Patients require taking these medications for an extended period and this is taxing on a person’s finances. By applying for disability tax benefits the patient can attempt to stabilize his/her finances.

However, applying for disability benefits is not an easy process. Canada Disability Corporation employs several experts who know the ins and outs of applying for these benefits, guaranteeing patients every penny they deserve. These professionals constantly update their knowledge about the various policies of the CRA, allowing them to advise clients better.

"I wish everyone could know how CDTS has saved me. Sometimes you don’t believe good things can happen. I was wrong; I had never seen a company do so much for me for so little.

Thank you again and again"

David. N. – Oshawa, ON

“As a family we must express our deepest thanks to you for helping us claim our disability tax rebate. Your expertise and professionalism made the procedure ever so simple and understandable. I will recommend you too many!”

Esther S. – St.Catherines, ON

“CDTS has changed the life for both my child and I. Raising a child with autism is not easy and can be very expensive. With my current income, I could not afford some of the courses, and workshops necessary to educate myself on my son’s disability. But with the help and professionalism of CDTS, I was able to get the money I needed to help educate myself on my son’s disability and put him in programs that help develop his skills. “

Fran E. – Guelph, ON

“I’m going to explain why I am so grateful to the CDTS and all that they have done.“

Being diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I have been fired from jobs continuously. I didn’t have very much money because of the loss of jobs; I couldn’t sit at my desks for more than twenty minutes without having to go to the bathroom. I was really in a bad situation with nowhere to turn, until someone introduced me to CDTS. With the help of CDTS, I was able to receive the money I deserved and they did everything, they were so professional even though I was embarrassed about my disability, they made me feel as if it was nothing.”
